Tinkering with the Air Huarache (no pun intended) is no easy task. After all, the iconic runner from 1991 is remembered as one of the greatest sneakers in brand history, so messing with a classic must be done with caution.
While not the first time the Air Huarache underwent a cosmetic change, the Huarache Runner displays a thoughtful approach to moving the model forward one decade. It’s clear that Nike is trying to capture that 2000s tech runner vibe this these modifications with that added underlays at the toe, mid-foot, and heel below a modified overlay. Even the heel clip has been refined to fit the Y2K look.
This brown/black/red colorway is one of four known colorways at this point. While a release date is not yet known at the moment, it’s likely a late Fall drop based on the official on-model imagery provided by Nike. Stay tuned for updates on availability as these will arrive on Nike.com and fellow retailers for $140.
